The Dow Museum of Historic Houses (Old St. Augustine Village): Old St. Augustine Village is a collection of nine historic houses from
1790 to 1910. Explore the five exhibit galleries as you walk through courtyards
and gardens. Included in the 1572 town, is an archaeological record of
a 16th-century hospital and cemetery, an 18th-century Spanish Colonial
defense line, and an early St. Augustine bridge. The grounds also include
the site of the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation reading, freeing all slaves
in Florida. The Village features the collections of museum benefactor,
Kenneth Dow, and exhibits highlight St. Augustine and Florida history.

“THE” St. Augustine Carousel: A real local icon. The can't get the little
one’s off it! The carousel was made in
1927 by C. W. Parker. Cost to ride this carousel is only $1.00 and is free
to any disabled child. This carousel has 20 horses and 2 chariots to ride.
It plays different music during each ride. Located next to Davenport Park,
a two-acre park with grills and playgrounds. Location: 180 San Marco Ave.,

Fort Matanzas: Named after historic "massacre" of nearly 250 French Huguenots
for not renouncing their faith durring their surrender to the Spanish,
almost 200 years prior to the Fort being built on a barrier island in St.
Augustine. The only access is by a free, 5 minute ferry
out to the fort. Take a tour of the fort given by a park ranger; watch
a brief video at the visitor center summarizing the historical significance
of the site and wildlife there. Enjoy a 1/2 mile nature trail, a boardwalk
trail through a maritime forest and have a picnic table lunch. There's beach access (fee for vehicles)
and a boardwalk trail to the beach. Spend a relaxing day on the
beach or head back into Old St.Augustine and take in some outdoor music
and luch at an outdoor cafe. It's a full day and the Fort is
FREE! Donations are appreciated to help maintain the Fort.
The Ntl. Park ferry runs every hour on the half-hour, beginning
at 9:30am running til 4:30pm daily. Hours: 9am- 5:30pm
every day except Dec. 25th. Visitor center, open from 9am- 4:30pm. Beach
