Disappearing Island- Ponce Inlet: The locals know where to find it,
but do you? It comes and goes with the tide, but that’s the fun of it! As the tide comes in, the island slowly disappears below the level of the water. It's a surreal vision of dozens of boats anchored with hundreds of people standing knee deep in the middle of the Halifax river. Some weekends it's a full blown party! So drop anchor with family, friends and new friends for picnics, frisbees, and "beverages". The tide varies from day to day, and week to week, so it is never the same experience twice. It is a great place to spend a day in the sun.
